Chasing ... Reno, Nevada City, Paul Oakenfold and everything else in between

We had a great time in Reno! When we first got there, the check-in lady said that the next two nights will be loud because there's a bar near our room. I asked for another room and they said they were booked. Ha I said to myself -- that's never true. So I asked that the girl go talk to her supervisor about giving us a new room. She came back and said they could give us another room. We are walking down the hall and the bell hop says go through the double doors. We walked through and there were two doors and one was our room! We have our own door bell and the suite is about 900 square feet -- at least! What a great start to a great weekend! Room 434 was good to us and for $39.99 a night I paid it was worth every penny! "Priceline Negotiator" has nothing on me!!!

The next night after racing the bike, we went bowling! $14 got you four games, large pizza and a pitcher of beer! Perfect food for athletes! LOL And then after bowling we found out Paul Oakenfold was spinning in our hotel so we checked that out as well. We got in free! The ticket guy was chatting up some chicks so we just walked in! Bowling and raving in the same night -- welcome to my life! LOL :)

The next day we went to Northstar where it was so beautiful! I sat by the fire with a few next friends (and Martina stopped by for a few) and drank wine which since it was happy hour drinks were half off! woo hoo! and cheered on our guys. Vai, vai, vai!! So much fun and nice people too. Although what was up with Allison of Tibco? Sooooo lame girlfriend. In my personal opinion, mechanical, dropped and/or lapped riders should NEVER be allowed to latch on to a breakaway group -- NEVER. It's not fair.

The next day was awesome as we went to Nevada City to mix it up with Mellow Jonny. Good times and a great race! Got a call up for Daniel and the race was so fast right from the gun. Good job to everyone who put on the race, the crowds were great and Bob, dear Bob, get the hell out of the peloton when the race is ten seconds from starting. DUH!

Can't wait to go south for Manhattan Beach. See you all there!

Chasing ... Girlfriends

Chasing ... I absolutely totally agree with this statement

That you don't have to give birth to someone to have a family. Nor do you have to have children in a household to be a family. Not a big Sandra Bullock fan, but she put into words exactly how I have felt all my life. I also don't believe that one person should pressure another person into having children if they never wanted them in the first place.

Sandra Bullock's interview with Harper's Bazaar on whether she's start a family of her own with Jesse James:

"You don't have to give birth to someone to have a family. I'm not going to spend two seconds of my life wishing I had something I don't. It's hard to do it your way when you hear everyone else telling you to do it their way. I just want people to admit that there's no one way to live your life. Of course, I don't know what's going to happen. I could go home today and go, I haven't started my period."

Chasing ... Cat's Hill

Upon further checking out the NorCal cycling scene, Daniel raced the infamous Cat's Hill yesterday. He was in a few breaks and shot to the front a few times. With two laps to go, there was a huge crash involving three riders. The officials delayed the race which seemed to be an eternity. The race finally started again gave the Pro 1/2 field 5 laps to go. Jackson Stewart won. Congrats Jackson!

Chasing ... Sea Otter, Pinarello

Had a great weekend with Daniel at Sea SlauOtter. Daniel took 5th at the crit race after the Bissell sweep. The weather was really nice for once at the Otter. On Sunday, we went to Stanford so I can get in a ride and Daniel was there for the UCSB team -- the team did great! Then we went to a party at my bike shop Above Category where we hung out with my friend and owner Chad, the Above Category team, some Bissell guys including my good friend Joao Correia and last but certainly not least Fausto Pinarello and Sandy Nicholls. Sorry we missed the morning ride -- sounded fun but the party was awesome! Chad did a very good job with the new store -- it looks amazing. Stop by and say hi to Chad at Above Category when you're in Mill Valley!

Chasing ... Rainbows and Giants Opening Day

I had an amazing day yesterday at the Giants Opening Day! Giants won yah! San Francisco Giants 10 - Milwaukee Brewers 6. Daniel and I started off the day meeting our friends at Tres Agaves but was too early for us to start drinking and eating so we went to a coffee shop. We met up with the rest of the crew Jon Navone, Gary Bauer, Chrissy Delisle, Kris McAlavey, Beth Schnitzer to name a few! The weather actually held up for us and didn't rain! I showed the stadium to Daniel since it was his first time and we walked around the entire stadium. We sat and watched the game in Club Level and had a blast! There were so many people there which was great to see. We all then went to the Epic restaurant opening. The best part of that experience was the beautiful rainbow which went over the Bay Bridge -- you could see the beginning and the end of the rainbow -- soooo cool! Then a double rainbow appeared! Everyone was taking pictures!! I had to take a couple of pics because my iPhone doesn't zoom out. Then the whole crew went across the street to Gordon Biersch and ate and ate and ate and drank! What a great day especially spending it with Daniel :)

Chasing ... Redlands and UCSB Team

A little late in posting, but had a blast at Redlands again this year! I was in charge of radio in lead Commissar 1 official car with Dan. I've never announced before but said I did of course ;-) Fast learning pays off! I announced when riders needed a feed or mechanical, and announced breakaways and times, and the winner's of the Sprints and KOMs. Such a windy day and the riders were going over 57 miles per hour in the back part of the road race! Unbelievable! Ohhhh and it's a bad thing to call out and cheer on your boyfriend in the Chief Official's car ... oops!! Must remain unbiased. LOL The Sunset circuit race I drove Chief Official Jeff around the women's course -- that was fun!! And then I was asked time the guys and pull riders and take times and numbers down of dropped riders as well. They go around so fast but after a while you get used to writing down numbers and memorizing 20 at a time! And it also helps that I know most of the guys although also a hindrance because I kept wanting to write down their names! LOL No time to be podium girl this year but had a really good time. Congratulations to all the male and female riders who raced this amazing Redlands Classic and see you all next year!

We are hosting some of the UCSB team and the guys got in last night. Great group of guys and so nice! They have collegiate racing to do in Berkeley today and we are about to head out the door because it's getting late!

Chasing ... Cleaning Out Paid Off

Downsized all my personal belongings over the past few months! Feels sooo good to get rid of stuff I haven't looked at since moving here from Boston like nine years ago! Seriously, I haven't looked in those boxes so how important really is that stuff in there? Feels less cramped around here and more closet space which was helpful since my boyfriend moved in this past Monday! We are having a really great time and not much of an adjustment period at all. We're only here for a short time before we move to SoCal to be closer to his kids! :)

Chasing ... the new 2009 Prince Pinarello

Stopped by my bike shop Above Category to see Chad and see the bike he built up yesterday. It's the limited edition color scheme called Royal Blue. It's not Royal Blue -- the real Royal Blue was last year's (2008) color scheme. I'll have to take issue up with Fausto on that one when he's here in a couple of weeks! LOL Anyway, the bike looks incredible although the stickers on the downtube and seatseat are at an angle but it makes it look off-center. Maybe it's just me.
